Soupy Island, Thorofare, New Jersey.
Admission: Adults: $8, Children (12 & under): $5
Directions: Walt Whitman Bridge to 295 South to Exit 22, Right at the
end
of ramp onto Red Bank Avenue. Go 1.5 miles to the last gate
before the Delaware River. Go left into the Soupy Island parking
area.
On
Saturday, July 31st the Lithuanian Music Hall will be holding
its 28th Annual Lithuanian Family Day Picnic. Last year's picnic
was a great success, with great food, games, music and fun. This
year we will be returning to Soupy Island Playground in Thorofare, NJ,
on the banks of the Delaware River.
Celebrate the last day of July with family and friends at the Lithuanian Music Hall's annual Family Day Picnic at the Soupy Island Playground, an 18 acre site on the Delaware River. This historic park has slides, swings, two swimming pools (one for very young children), a carousel and many more attractions for children as well as adults on spacious picnic grounds.
As
you know, the normal operation of the Lithuanian Music Hall is very
costly. This year with the strict enforcement of the fire codes
in Philadelphia (brought on by the tragic club fires in Rhode Island
and elsewhere) lights, alarms and exits were installed to keep the
Music Hall open. Proceeds from the picnic are much needed to
defray these unforeseen expenses. Please help by attending the picnic
- if you cannot attend, please help by mailing in a donation.
Join us for a day of Old Fashioned Family Fun: Lithuanian Food and
Drink, Music, Games. Proceeds from the picnic will help us to keep the
Music Hall open.
