Musical accompaniment for the entire ceremony was provided by the Kaimo Kapela. From the Anthems, to the three different dance groups, to the final strains of Lietuva Brangi, the whole afternoon was enriched by their expert participation.
      The multimedia presentation—100 Years in the Life of Lithuanian-Americans in Philadelphia—stirred the hearts of many audience members as familiar faces lit up the screen. The presentation recounted the history of Lithuanians in Philadelphia … their triumphs, achievements, and struggles on behalf of the fight for freedom for Lithuania.
      Dalia Jakiene, Lithuanian Foundation representative, presented a check to Danute Surdeniene, principal of the Vincas Kreve Lithuanian School. And then the merriment began…
      After a presentation documenting ten years of progress by free Lithuania narrated by Nijole Zambaite, everyone joined the children’s choir in singing Lietuva Brangi, Beloved Lithuania.
      Ultimately, the commemoration reminded us of the long journey we have taken as Lithuanians -- bound by our love for our country, and a desire to preserve and continue our culture and our heritage.
